New Year's Resolution --keep my blog updated!!

Hi All,

Time has gone so fast this past year...Ihave found a new true love...alpaca fleece!!!haha..
We listed our house in August and sold in October and moved in November just before Thanksgiving...it was fun!!

Now we are almost ready for christmas..presents to wrap!!! Did some baking with my daughter today she really got in the spirit of things as in the picture. We had a great time..well I have so much to show you from the last few months I better get busy..Now that I found the camera link cable...months later!!!

Here is some alpaca I spun over the Fall and I dyed the yarn with cherry kool-aid and lime kool-aid. Here is a sock I almost have done out of alpaca.

I like to use my wheel to spin and my drop spindle to ply..I get alot better twist that way.
I did make a bit of a turn as all my carded fleece is hard to get to....I started quilting again..redwork and want to do some hand piecing...I love hand work..so portable and can be with the family..Im going to a quilt show in CA soon.

I dont know about you but I seem to be jumping from project to project and not getting anything completed..starting to stress me out. I have the jacket Elphinstone, a sock and matching one to finish...I need to start a project list for the new year. Any one want to join me on a "UFO's Gone for 2007"!!! Email me if want to.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Merry Christmas...and New Year's Eve..

Spinning is addictive!!!

Hi Everyone,
No I didnt fall off the face of the earth!!! Ive been busy spinning...filled two bobbins...now I want to ply them...(was taking a class but I had to cancel the lessons). The teacher offered to teach me the material later in the year.

After seeing a former classmates bobbins though I think I can go back and fill them up some more. I just have one question, I bought some "silver" or roving (that is the term for fiber that is in a long strip I read) and when I spin I end up getting a knot at the bottom as the fibers have been drafted at different rates through my hand ....any ideas?

Hi all,

Made a decision on my wheel purchase...its a Kiwi...I tried one at my last class and just fell in love with it...
These past few days have been so crazy.....and to top it off I got a nasty head cold...arrggg. I have not started my Einstein Jacket like I wanted to and last weekend I wanted to go to the Alphaca farm in Burlington but not feeling up to it...my daughter has it too.
So thats my news for today. Take care.....Kellogs

2nd Week Spinning Class

Hi
I have been so busy with kids activities; Boy scouts and girl scouts.

Just got back from my second spinning class; very cool; just got the rhythm down now I have to slow down so I dont overtwist the yarn. Im know looking at spinning wheels and cant decide between two - the Ashford kiwi and the Ashford traditional; both run very smoothly. Started knitting my Einstein Jacket...I only do this during my knitting group on Tues. morning because we are gabbing so much.

Well better go and get some shut eye...till later .....
Keli
